A gentle plan for worries
Progress over perfection.
Worries deserve listening without promising that nothing bad can happen. Help your child separate a thought from one action they can take now.
Try it together
- Ask what part feels uncertain and listen without immediately correcting.
- Draw two circles: things we can do something about and things we cannot control today.
- Pick one support such as practising the route or asking a teacher a question. Seek qualified support if worries keep affecting daily life.
Words you could use
“Your worry is telling you the new class might be hard. What could help the first ten minutes?”
One manageable next step
Write one question your child wants answered before the next change.
