Getting dressed with less pressure

Progress over perfection.

Clothing can be uncomfortable or a dressing step can be hard to coordinate. Curiosity helps more than assuming refusal is deliberate.

Try it together

  1. Ask whether a seam, fabric, temperature or fiddly fastening is the hard part.
  2. Offer two comfortable options and lay clothes in dressing order.
  3. Do the difficult part together and hand over one manageable step. Seek advice about ongoing pain or daily difficulty.

Words you could use

“Is it the scratchy tag or the buttons? We can find a comfier way.”
