A short family meeting

Progress over perfection.

A family meeting can be a small check-in, not a list of everything children did wrong. Keep it short and give everyone a voice.

Try it together

  1. Start with one thing each person appreciated this week.
  2. Choose one practical problem and brainstorm a few solutions without interrupting.
  3. Pick a plan you can try for a week, name who helps and finish with something pleasant.

Words you could use

“Our shoes keep getting lost. What place would make them easiest to find?”

One manageable next step

Use the family meeting sheet for a ten-minute check-in.

Educational support only — not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Adapt to your child’s skills and supervise activities. If difficulties are persistent, intense or unsafe, seek qualified support. In an emergency call your local emergency number (000 in Australia).
